Why we exist

Family breakdown can be hard on everyone. For some children, it becomes much more than that.

Parental separation and family breakdown can sometimes result in children experiencing genuine distress, helplessness or misfortune — not simply the ordinary adjustment of a family changing shape.

Hole in the Clouds is being established to provide practical, child-focused relief when those circumstances create real need — keeping the child, not the parental dispute, at the centre of everything we do.

Who we help

Children and young people who genuinely need somewhere safe to turn.

Our planned programs are directed toward children and young people experiencing significant distress, helplessness or misfortune connected to family separation or breakdown — considered according to individual need, program suitability, safety and our available capacity.

Making an enquiry doesn't guarantee a place in a program. It's simply the first step in understanding whether we may be able to help.

Support is considered on:

  • the needs of the child or young person
  • the nature of the distress, helplessness or misfortune involved
  • whether our planned programs are a suitable fit
  • safety considerations for everyone involved
  • our available resources and capacity at the time
